Practical, Straightforward, Collaborative Counseling for
Adults, Adolescents, Couples & Families
Nearly everyone, at some point in their lives, experiences feelings of depression, anxiety, or simply feeling stuck.
Whether these feelings are the result of childhood experiences or current circumstances, meaningful change can come from counseling.
My approach is practical, straightforward, and collaborative, with the goal of expanding self-awareness and gaining insight into patterns that might be causing difficulty in your life and relationships. While emotional pain brings you into therapy, it is your strengths that are an integral part of the therapy process.
I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College, and have a bachelor of science degree in Psychology. I have worked in both clinical and private practice and enjoy working with clients from many different backgrounds. I currently provide counseling for adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are working through depression, anxiety, trauma recovery, childhood abuse, grief/bereavement, as well as relationship issues between couples and families.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation to allow us to get to know each other and make sure we are a good fit. After that, my fee is $65 per 50-minute session. I accept payment at time of service. While I don't work with insurance companies directly, I am happy to provide you with a receipt that you can use for reimbursement from your insurance company. I also offer a sliding scale based on need.

Wellness Counseling for Children, Teens & Adults
Being a parent can be tough, tiring, frustrating, and stressful. It can be hard to watch your child struggle, not listen, get in trouble at school, and have tough interactions day after day. You may have already tried medication, discipline, books, or other resources. If you're feeling this way, know that you are not alone, you are a good parent, and it's okay to seek help. I am here to provide that help and support during this difficult time.
Things can get better and return to times of enjoyment for yourself and your child. I provide a safe and comfortable place to start this process. I work with both parents and children to help create positive interactions and relationships. Providing alternative options for understanding and approaching these relationships. Focus is also given to teaching the skills needed to foster growth, increase communication, and build support.
This process can begin very soon, in most cases within the week. Session fees are $70 per 45/50 minute session and I am able to offer a sliding scale if fees are a hardship. Please do not let cost be a barrier to receiving support. I also provide a free brief consultation, to learn about your situation and ensure that I am the right fit for your counseling needs. Please contact me by phone, email, or through my personal website and I will be in touch, usually within 2 to 3 hours.
I earned my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Washington. Over the past 10 years I have enjoyed working with children and families in counseling centers, the community, group homes, chemical dependency centers, and sports settings. My private practice has allowed me to continue this work and help families grow closer.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to begin your journey.
Individual, Relationship & Family Therapy
Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar, Infidelity, Chronic Illness and Parenting
Therapy is unique to the person, their past experiences, current relationships, and their particular goals. There is no one way of reaching our desired goals or to conquer a particular struggle. My practice seeks to work collaboratively with clients to open up options as well as explore the solutions clients already have but are hidden.
Having completed training in marriage and family therapy, I aim to bring attention to the relational components of clients' lives. The therapy process involves bringing awareness to the relationship you have with yourself and others. I am committed to helping clients as they seek to work towards meaningful change on a variety of concerns including: infidelity, anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder and parenting.
For 12 years, I supported seniors and their families as they adjusted to challenges of aging and chronic illness. When one person in the family becomes ill, the family system is impacted. Specialized training in medical family therapy allows me the opportunity to attune to biological, psychological, social, and spiritual elements of the whole person. Therapy can create a safe space to express feelings and navigate the changes illness can bring to the person, caregivers, and family.
Because of the uniqueness encompassing our lives, my approach to therapy is to come from a place of empathy, curiosity, and respect. The client - therapist relationship is an important factor in effectiveness. For new clients, I offer a 20-minute phone consultation at no cost. I also offer reasonable rates in my dedication to accessibility.

I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other counseling approaches. I will always work with you in the way that serves you best.

What is it like to be you now?
Take a minute to think about that.
If you find your answer disappointing, it may be time for a solution. Through one-on-one conversations, using the tools of the life coaching field, I can help you get clear about your life and then support you as you create your own best path forward.
Using hypnosis, I can help you find the inner strengths you own but haven't yet discovered. You are far more powerful than you know! And the time frame on this whole process may be quicker than you think. It does not cost a fortune to change your life.
Here is some personal information about myself related to issues that often trouble people and that may connect us.
I lost my father in WWII and was raised by a single mom who suffered from bipolar disorder. My sister-cousin who lived with us died of brain cancer at the age of 6. I was 10. My nightmares were terrifying ~ I was afraid to fall asleep. In the same period, I lost my grandmother and grandfather, with whom we lived. Loss defined that period of my life.
What is your experience with loss?
At age 36 I came down with a chronic health condition. It had a major impact on my career as a university professor. I had to resign as a result of the unmanageability of the flare-ups.
Do you suffer from any medical conditions impacting your quality of life?
I spent many years caring for a close family member who suffered with Alzheimer's disease and for my husband who died from cancer.
Are you dealing with family situations that drain you?
Loss, impediments, and stress can all be overcome. A happy life can be the outcome. I know. I've experienced it. Let me help you.
My Mission Statement:
"You fulfilled, you truly alive."
